EMILY IS AN OUT-OF-NETWORK PROVIDER
Because of the systematic restraints associated with being paneled with insurance companies, I choose to prioritize the quality of the care I provide to clients without being bound to the unrealistic restrictions that direct contracts with insurance companies enforce. By being an out-of-network provider, I can serve a wider range of people, provide better quality care to my clients, and personalize their treatment plans in effective and realistic ways. Being an out-of-network provider also allows me to experience a healthier work-life balance and engage in the volunteer and pro-bono work needed in our community.
I do not bill insurance directly, but I can offer you the necessary documentation and guidance for you to receive potential reimbursement from your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits.
Emily also offers sliding scale for a limited number of clients.

WHAT WILL THE FIRST MEETING LOOK LIKE?
Upon reaching out to me by using the “contact” button on this website, I’ll ask if you’d like to have a free 10-15 minute consultation. I’ll send you a link to my virtual waiting room if you'd like to utilize this free consultation. Once you enter the waiting room, I’ll admit you into our meeting at our agreed-upon time. I understand that some people prefer to consult through email. I encourage you to consider consulting with me through a video or phone call, but I will accept and respond to written communications as well. In the consultation, I will ask you why you’re seeking therapeutic services, what you’re looking for, and what you are not looking for. I will then tell you how I can help you. You can also use this time to ask any questions you’d like. I love questions! The purpose of a consultation is for us to figure out if we’d be a good fit for working together. By exploring your presenting concerns, I can determine if I have the skills to help you with what you need, or if you could be better served by another clinician. If we decide we’d like to work together, we will then set up an intake meeting. The purpose of an intake is to get to know each other more. I’ll be learning about your experiences, needs, challenges, strengths, and intentions in therapy. This process is intended to assess severity of symptoms and appropriate treatment plans. After our intake, we will then set up a meeting schedule.
Most people feel nervous when meeting a therapist for the first time. That’s totally normal. Let me walk you through what this process could look like so you can feel more prepared.
